... billboard test - Barstow (2 versions)

... the 21st Century is much more conservative than we ever expected it to be. And so, reluctantly, I have to make allowances and 'conservatize' some of my images.

This still remains one of my favorite fantasies inspired by my endless drives across America's great West.

... John Kerry - cover.

... wish I could say it was a real cover- alas-no. Works very well though!

... 93rd birthday portrait- Halim El-Dabh

... did some more work on my friend Halim's 93rd birthday portrait. Like a lot of my recent work it really looks best full-screen.

... Chris- blur ... CGI

... I spent a lot of time considering if the term "CGI" really applied to what I am doing.
"Computer Generated Imagery" whose common usage started out as a 1980's term referring to 'computer-generated' animation. It was a radical departure from the 'traditional' hand-drawn animation of the past.

As I have mentioned; there is a lack of terminology for what 'still photographers' are doing with computers and Photoshop type software. "Retouching" is a very limited and artistically inappropriate term. So for now "CGI" feels closer to correct - technically and emotionally. Even though my images originate from a 'shoot' outside the computer- there is nothing left of the 'original' raw image.

... 'Vlad'

... I am surprised and very pleased with how well these 'caricatures' have been coming out! Of course they are taken from 'news' images. I have checked with an expert and as long as they are substantially altered from the original- there is no copyright violation.
