... I spent a lot of time considering if the term "CGI" really applied to what I am doing.
"Computer Generated Imagery" whose common usage started out as a 1980's term referring to 'computer-generated' animation. It was a radical departure from the 'traditional' hand-drawn animation of the past.

As I have mentioned; there is a lack of terminology for what 'still photographers' are doing with computers and Photoshop type software. "Retouching" is a very limited and artistically inappropriate term. So for now "CGI" feels closer to correct - technically and emotionally. Even though my images originate from a 'shoot' outside the computer- there is nothing left of the 'original' raw image.
